Dr. Jeff’s Origin Story
Learn More About Dr. Jeff
Dr. Jeff’s journey has been a remarkable story of twists and turns – of soaring peaks and deep valleys, starting with early health struggles that left him fighting for his life as an infant. That fight continued into his childhood and teen years where, as the 6th of seven children, he felt lost in the shuffle until his mother’s wise and inspirational words changed his world for good. Seeing the 16-year old frustrated fighter standing before her in their old kitchen, Jeff’s mom challenged him to focus his angst and frustrations into leaving a positive imprint on the world and, specifically, in children’s lives. From sports and ministry camp experiences, to hospitality leadership, to counseling, teaching, and leading in educational settings; Dr. Jeff was committed to changing the world through his tenacity and touch.
Dr. Jeff’s true calling emerged when, as a teacher, a gruff but popular principal recognized his true passion for impacting kids, and guided Jeff into school leadership where he served as a highly successful Principal for over a decade. Over the years, Dr. Wilson ascended through school leadership until he reached the pinnacle, serving as a Superintendent of Schools – including leading the #1 ranked school district in the State of California. While Jeff will always value the impact he had directly on students through his principalships, it was in the role of Superintendent where he was able to greatly impact entire communities.
Despite facing significant career challenges and setbacks, Jeff remained resilient and focused on helping others. It has been said that “… life’s greatest setbacks reveal life’s biggest opportunities” – and as Jeff emerged from the darkness of loss, an epiphany struck when he realized he could achieve his retirement dreams EARLY, with some minor adjustments.
Working with his mentor, friend, and financial advisor, Dr. Jeff saw the light and became financially free to pursue his retirement dreams and passion projects. Now, his ultimate goal is to take this newfound peace of mind, embrace a freedom of time that allows him to live the life he has always wanted – to spend his time and resources on and with those he loves – his family, friends, and dogs; and then to pass it on to others so that they might attain the same Freetirement and fulfillment that Jeff has found. For Dr. Jeff, this is his journey and his LEGACY and he wants that for you.
